“As a hub for customers, partners and funworld the workshop offered an ideal platform to celebrate the first very promising successes of the new funwin and poker products and to customise these to perfection on the individual markets via mutual exchange,” stated Josef Öhlinger, CEO funworld.

With funwin and poker funworld consistently relies on the strategy of developing linked gaming offers and offers an innovation to locations in both sectors. The aim is to provide locations with an entirely new access to Internet business and to link classic terminal operations to Internet platforms.

The two product innovations are thereby unique in that locations for the first time have the possibility of participating in the terminal revenue as well as the revenue of players on the Internet.

funwin — venues on the Internet

On the first workshop day everything revolved around current trends in the internet and the new funwin skill games platform, with which funworld is reacting to the constantly growing online game market and for the first time providing operators with the opportunity to profit via a licensed model from the booming online skill games as well.

“With funwin operators can develop a new business field supplemental to the classic business with high sales and gamer potential and effectively establish their own ‘arcades’ in the internet,” emphasised Thomas Keitz, Managing Director of funworld germany.

To this end funwin offers a unique game platform with known and new PHOTO PLAY games, whereby for the first time players can also compete against each other on the Internet. With these legal games of skill players can choose between four fascinating game areas with exciting tournament forms and moreover the opportunity to win real money.

To facilitate access for customers and licensees into the online gaming business and beyond that to support them in concrete advertising measures, such as banners or paysafecards in marketing and attracting players, the most important themes of online marketing were elaborated on together in the framework of the workshops.

Market growth and strategic development of the platform were as much on the programme as effective marketing and long-term gamer loyalty. Using the example of Austrian funwin licensee Diesel Game, a major cinema chain, practical measures for setting up one’s own gamer community were also taught. Branch trends such as Web 2.0 or Social Gaming were also presented to customers.

As a highlight of the first workshop day Josef Voglsam, chairman of the largest Austrian lifestyle and community portal Szene 1.at, gave insight into the modern Internet business and online marketing.

Finally customers were given an overview of the upcoming short, medium and long-term innovations in the game platform, which generated a lively discussion of ideas and wish lists.

1. Online entertainment poker

The second day of the workshop was entirely focused on the current absolute mega-trends of poker, which the touchscreen innovator had recognised early on and with which funworld had already quite successfully reacted to with Gam-X in Italy a year ago.

Based on the extremely positive developments in Italy, funworld continues its investments in the field of poker and introduced national and international customers at the workshop to the new funworld Poker platform and the brand new entertainment poker, which was jointly developed with the Norwegian cooperation partner playsafe Holding.

Poker-Twin Star is a pure entertainment product without the option to win money yet with the fascination of playing poker live against other players in a network.

“The new entertainment poker enables players to play Texas Hold’em live against one another for the first time and to experience the fascination Poker in one of the most internationally renowned poker networks. Poker-Twin Star is thus an ideal training device with two monitors and twice the chances of revenue, which will be one of the main topics at IMA and IGE 2010,” explained Keitz.

Export version

The new poker terminal is available as an export version in countries where legal statutes permit, and as a linked real money poker system. funworld is proceeding here, as are the majority of experts, from a further liberalisation of the international legal situation, as is already currently the case in France, Denmark or Switzerland.

“The success of Gam-X in Italy clearly shows what great potential there is in poker, which we make correspondingly accessible to national and international customers with our poker innovations, stated Öhlinger with conviction.

Continuation to follow

With the workshop funworld has succeeded in imparting to its national and international customers and partners the most important information to enter into the fascinating Internet business and enabled them to exchange experiences. By unanimous request the workshop will soon be continued.
